So Not So Silent Night was one of the BEST shows I’ve ever been to. So first off, I got to see Justine who I met at UCSD this summer and got to meet her famous boyfriend Dan. But we couldn’t get in line with them because the people behind them called the security over to make us move back to the end of the line. We went willingly. So we played down by the banks and goofed around for an hour and a half in line. Roger showed up and stayed with us in line. So the doors opened a little after 6 and as we got in, we saw a live105 worker holding up a sign saying “MUSE is signing autographs at 6:30” We were like, OMG we’re there! So when we get over there, there’s no line, cuz we’re the first ppl in line. They have a large poster thing that looks like the album cover. That was pretty awesome. Then after Muse, INTERPOL was signing autographs. But while Muse was finishing their autograph session, who walks by? SAM AND CARLOS D WALK BY. And we’re like, OMFG OMFG OMFG and we follow them all the way to the Live105 booth. They were going to their onair interview. So we caught up to them right as they got their. And Mimi went up to Sam and told him that she was his biggest fan and SHE GOT A HUG! Then she signaled to me to talk to him so I said, “So I heard you got sick in Europe and kept playing, that’s so hardcore.” And he said “yeah.. thanks.” And HE SMILED AT ME. Oh yes, good feelings for me. He has a missing tooth, so Sam-like. Then we went back to get in line for the Interpol autographs. So we’re upstairs waiting in the line. And Sam and Carlos walk by AGAIN. So I yell after Carlos, “CARLOS YOU”RE MY HERO!” and he looked back with a smile and he waved! So awesome. He’s so much sexier in person.
So We’re first in line again for Interpol, and Live105 still had some old 2003 posters that go for like hella money on Ebay and I got that signed. I have both of the posters they were giving away to get signed before tonight. So I got everyone’s autographs. So great. Then it was time for Muse to go on. So we went into the pit to try and get a good spot. They were awesome except that the guitar wasn’t loud enough. So after Muse’s set, Interpol was up next. So we pushed into the pit even more to get a better spot. But little did we know that people were going to mosh to Interpol. So they played Next Exit first, then the moshing began and stopped practically with Obstacle 1. Then Slow Hands, NARC, Evil and PDA. It was the most awesome thing ever to mosh to Interpol. All the jumping around and stuff was great. My posters became smashed and folded. Lemme tell you this, it was dam hard to write down the set list in a mosh pit. Dam hard. So Paul took off his Fedora half way thru the set. And also, to lead into PDA, they did a little improv. As the drums started up, I yelled “YEAHH!” I don’t think people noticed what song they just started. Oh well. Their set was really short, unfortunately.
I didn’t watch much of The Killers in the crowd, I was exhausted from Interpol’s set. The Killers were good live, I’ll give them that. During their set, I bought a $3 stick of Rolos. I was hungryyy. I told the girls, Don’t even ask for one. Because they were 3 dollars! I also bought the pink Muse shirt. It’s kinda tight oh well. The Rolos helped a lot. After the Killers was Franz Ferdinand! SO we pushed into the crowd once again to get a good spot. We were behind this really really tall guy and between these two annoying couples that were like fondling each other right there. We didn’t need to see that. Dan the Automator played while we were waiting for Franz. So the first song they played was Michael. I love Michael the most, it’s so brilliant. Their set was longer than Interpol’s. Alex got to shake Alex’s hand, most awesome. So we got all sweaty again. Mary’s hair afterwards was soaked! So much dancing and jumping. I’ve never jumped that much in my life.
Modest Mouse was next but we didn’t stay for all of their set because we were all hungry and tired. And plus I wasn’t feeling them. It wasn’t the moment for me to watch them I’ll see them when they come back.
Okay, so here’s the other stuff that happened inbetween all of that. I ran into my SAT tutor from Princeton Review. He gave me a hug and we talked for awhile. Enough time for me to loose the group. He’s not in Aphasia anymore because he wants to finish his degree from Berkeley. I also got to meet one of the guys from Facing New York. I got to shake his hand. And later on we ran into Anton from Judgment Day. Mary was happy. So basically, that’s it. That was my night and one of the most eventful concerts I’ve ever been to.
